This style of alternator was original equipment on 73-later Beetles and Ghia's to assure fast starts and bright lights.
Note: On 1973 - 1974 models- you will need to do a small amount of re-wiring. See installation instructions for details.
This is the alternator used when upgrading your 1966-1973 Beetle or Ghia from the old 12volt generator to an alternator.
